Stories for everyone
The Stories Club includes a wide variety of genres and stories written for different age groups to enjoy learning English. Some are created by members of the WW International Alliance of authors and intercultural practitioners, whilst others are obtained from openly sourced online content and appropriately adapted for pedagogic objectives following the WW functional and structured approach. Together, they form a hub for imagination, wonder and discovery. Content is available on subscription – for more information, please contact us: contact@walwyncommunications.com.
The Power of Storytelling
Stories are part of our lives and have been so for many thousands of years. They help us make sense of the world and encourage us to imagine how we can change things for the better.
How to help young children enjoy learning English through storytelling
Walwyn Communications shares some of the keys to successful storytelling.
We often associate storytelling with legends, fairy tales and children learning to read. Today, however, storytelling is recognised to be an effective way to engage with audiences across the globe, and to even help us achieve our goals in the workplace. Think of the news stories that stream onto our devices throughout the day, their use in advertising to effectively market consumer goods, or how testimonials, such as a patient’s experience of care that can memorably illustrate how improvements can be made in a care pathway.
A memorable story has the power to motivate and change mindsets
The transformative power of storytelling can never be underestimated. Its power lies in our capacity to imagine and empathize with the characters and the situations they find themselves in. In effect, they can bring people together to create a better reality.
